My first "real" gaming setup. I'll put some of the specs here because I know I'm always curious to know what other people have and where to get it!
I've often wondered why this isn't a section rule.
Which Ergotech Arms are those? I can't seem to find any wall mount arms for 27" monitors
They are Ergotron monitor arms; I have some myself and they are fantastic.
Thanks for the heads up, fixed it in the pictures!
The monitor arms themselves say "Ergotron" which is a different manufacturer for flatscreen mounts. That being said, I bet some of the Ergotech mounts would work fine for 27", just look at the weight capacity specs and make sure its 100x100 VESA.
I actually have one of those right now for my 3x24". I'm looking to wallmount 3 27" Qnixs in portrait as accessory monitors
These are the exact monitor arms I have to seperate arms and like how easily I can move them in and out of the way will probably get a third. It says up to 25" LCD but I think thats because of weight issues. Not that they will get pulled out of the wall but because the arm counterbalances wont work. Both of my 27" are well under the 20 lbs limit and work great!
It's not expensive for something built well enough to last decades. Whether you like the look of it 30 years from now is a different question, but I bet they hold value pretty well.
That's true, but it lacks things like adjustable height or drawers. I'm a pretty tall person and I need a high desk too, I think i wont be able to sit under this desk.
That was my biggest fear. I'm 6'3" and have about 3 inches of leg room
The problem is that it is restoration hardware and if you know anything about them you know that you are over paying for their products and they won't last 30 years.
How do you like the chair?
Do you like the keyboard?
I think its one of the biggest upgrades to my computer since monitor arms. I can type much faster and love the response / feel.
What do you think about the keyboard? From what I understand, they tried to make it mechanical AND silent. How does it feel to type on? Still as satisfying as a regular mechanical board?
I also own this keyboard, and I absolutely love it. It's way quieter than other mechanical keyboards I've used (doesn't sound like you're shooting a machine gun) and it's got a very satisfying feel. I prefer the browns myself, so it's perfect. Great upgrade over the previous rubber dome keyboard I had.
Awesome, thanks for the reply
That chair is so dope. Looks like a sports car chair.
I've got to say, I expected some joystick pictures. Which reminds me, I need to try and fix my X45.;joystick. I need to get in some ROF.
Get a flight stick! (assuming you also enjoy playing flight games)
My God that desk is amazing
It's very cool! Restoration Hardware. I also noticed that's the desk Kutcher has in two and a half men.
I'm disappointed with the lack of attention to detail. A plane would use rivets not screws.
That's actually not as expensive as i was expecting, considering a freakin candle holder from RH sells for like $750
Yeah, they came out a few years ago. They have a whole line of this look that is pretty amazing, but this desk is about the most adventurous.
I like it but the customizability of Anthro is still superior. The desks are specifically designed around ergonomics and many of them have sit/stand functionality.
As an Anthro owner I agree. People here want to piece everything together for cheap but it will not meet the quality of an Anthro. The desk are built like a tank, it's extremely good quality and it ships to you via freight on a pallet. Worth every penny.
I wanted one but it's not available in the UK. They say it will be shipping to europe soon. :(
I'm amazed there aren't more options for desks like this. It's not like any of the features are crazy (outlets and audio jacks built in, adjustable, etc) but I can't find another desk in that price range with the same usability.
Exactly. I resorted to building my own with parts sourced from ikea. Loads of ikeahack ideas floating around. I'd be willing to spend nearly double what paradise desk asks since it cost me £300 to build my own from wood without cable management and neat ideas they have to offer.
I did the same thing. Bought a desk off CL and then took a trip to ikea and frankensteined what I needed together. I'm now just looking for an endgame desk. No more modifications, no more settling for a product that has most of the features I need.
That's awesome! I've been wishing I was better skilledin building stuff. I would love to have an L shaped desk with a bookshelf on the left side, and then a bunch of attachment points like their desk has with USB Ports and the plug in spots. That would be super nice to have.
I have an Anthro, it's worth every penny. If you pay attention to their website and facebook they have a 40 percent off sale every year around April. My next one from them will be the auto lifting desks.
I can't even begin to imagine how cold that desk would be when the weather is below zero.
Team Dai-Gurren Sticker is pretty awesome too.
Great looking setup but I have to ask, where's the flight stick and pedals? Your setup screams for some Falcon 4.x and DCS World.
Likewise, when I saw the title and the desk I was waiting for an epic flight sim setup to be included.
If I may say something about your watercooling, your tube is kinked from your pump to the res. Also if I'm correct, the pump outlet goes into the res. The pump must always come after the res so the pump can never run dry. (Got the same pump, EK DCP 4.0)
Good catch! I'll have to get some tubing and fix it ASAP. Do you have an idea of how I can run that tube without the kink? Tried like 10 different ways and that was the best I could get.
You can use a 90/45 degree fitting. Also you don't have to use those G1/4 extenders, you only need them when using the bottom 2 ports.
Just wondering, why isn't your GPU under water?
Had an H100i for about 6 months it broke on Xmas eve, ordered a air cooler to get me through the holidays and decided to go to custom liquid. Wanted to make sure I could get this up and running before I went more into it. I'll probably have that be my next project!
For real though, how cold does that thing get in the winter? Really awesome though looks great.
Sweet setup! Do your forearms get cold?
Surprisingly not! It is a pain to clean (I have tables too) if you let it go for too long though.
If you are intrested in a desk, chair, or table in this type of style Zin home has a bunch of options.
Not a big fan of the chairs! They look cool and if I see one on clearance I would probably put it in a corner! But some of the other stuff on there awesome for sure. Adding to my man cave wishlist now!
That houzz site is terrible. Not only are those pieces pretty much direct ripoffs of the RH ones, houzz just reframes the target site and forces you to create an account to click the link to visit the actual store.
I agree, I just posted it because that's where I found them.
Ripoffs? More like Restoration Hardware is using the same contractor they are paying to provide them with furniture. You do realize that most of these places don't design a thing, they go to China or a design firm and then make a contract with that company to slap their logo on the product they could then turn around and sell it for mint. This happens all the time.
Where did you get your Gurren Lagann sticker?
Your desk is worth more than everything in my computer setup -_-
Nice picture of the 130 E model, there on your tower.
You´re damn right with the ergotrons. Got my first wall mount a few weeks ago. Pure awesomeness. Will buy a second one soon.
Came here expecting joystick and rudder pedals. Found wing desk. Better than expected.
I really like your wallpaper
Could you please send me a link? Been searching the webs couldn't find a one as badass
As a prior USAF C-17 Aviator, this is AMAZING! Looks Great!
Do you really need 1200 watts ?
+1 for the keyboard :)
Note: If wing is in cockpit you have made a mistake in assembly of the aircraft.
That desk is awesome! Where did you get it?
Its that one! Picked it up for 1200 with discounts / black Friday.
Wow - even more expensive than I expected. Awesome though.
Kinda puts me off that they used screws instead of rivets. Even some blind rivets would have been a better touch than sheetmetal screws.
I bet they are frickn cold 3:
How do you like your dxracer? Really considering picking one up but having a hard time pulling the trigger since I haven't been able to try one yet.
I think you are paying more for the look and "gamer approved" than you would. Not that I'm one to talk about overpriced furniture but I agree desk chairs that are amazing get way to expensive way too quick!
How well does it hold up to the test of time? I wear the shit out of office chairs. I wish an auto manufacturer would take up making desk chairs so I could find something that'd last.
How did the carbon fiber on the Chief RS feel. It's also on my short list.
I didn't really like it. While I rarely lean back in my chair it dug right into my skull when I did. While you can put the pad over it and that chair makes it easier to mount the lumbar support (which I don't use) I think the Classic GT style was better.
Awesome. Decision made... I think...
No problem! Let me know if you have any other questions! The only other thing I would say is I'm 6'3" 220 lbs with pretty broad shoulders. The extra "space" provided by the XL models made the chairs less supportive and I really didn't like them in case anyone else is thinking of going that route!
I have all my real airplane models in the hall just outside of it! Mostly C-130s though!
Amazing ... but that chair has no elbows support, your arms and especially your shoulders can be in trouble if you sit in that for a long time. Of coursr assuming that you take care of your spine and relax sometimes, also your arms need to relax.
I'm confused there are two adjustable elbow rests on the chair I have them down low so I can go close to my desk and rest my elbows on that, am I missing something?
Yep: your forearms should be horizontal while you're typing. That's why people use under-desk keyboard trays.
If you watch a movie and lay on your back then you'll see that your missing something and your arms will get uncomfortable.
Would you mind sharing the wallpapers? they look awesome.
Get yourself a good joystick and throttle, and jump into a flight sim dude.
Im looking at getting a new chair in the near future. What are youre thoughts on your chair?
Where did you get your 800D I can't seem to find any
I got mine from Amazon but it doesn't seem to be in stock there anymore, sorry
Link to the wallpaper on the right monitor?
Damn OP, you studyin' aeronautics?
I rarely see a Logitech G710+ paired with a Razer Ouroboros. It would normally be a Razer Keyboard and a Logitech G700s. Was there any particular you went with the Ouroboros? and was the G710+ worth the price? I might drop a little more than I was planning on spending, for it.
Why does everyone have the desire to go for a 1200W PSU?
I know, it's pretty useless. And the efficiency is crap when it's running at very low load all the time... OP should have gotten a lower watt Platinum PSU if it was necessary to spend a lot of money. People just generally hugely overestimate the required wattage.
As an avid flight simmer, aviation enthusiast, and pilot, how is this aviation style? I see the desk, the background, and the toy plane, but how's that aviation style? No joystick? It's a nice setup, but I don't see how it's aviation style.
It might just be me but my god that is the ugliest desk I have seen in quite a while
